Desmond Barrett
Mr. Barrett, was elected to the Board of Supervisors by the residents of East County Water Control District in November 2000, becoming the youngest elected official ever elected in Lee County at the age of 22 years old. Mr. Barrett was subsequently reelected to the board of Supervisors in November of 2004.
While serving on the board Mr. Barrett has taken an active interest in preserving our environment while balancing the interest of the growing population in Lehigh Acres. He is a leading voice for smaller government and less taxes. He has supported proposals that have lowered the districts tax rate, while supporting the districts employees. He believes in a balance approach to governance.
His interests include spending time with his wonderful wife Julie and their three daughters.
Neal Horrom
Neal was elected to the Board of Supervisors by the residents of Lehigh Acres on 11/12/97 and again on 11/5/2002. He served as the Chairman of the Board since 1998 and is now the Treasurer. Neal was born in Lakeland, Florida and moved to Lehigh Acres before his 1st birthday.He graduated Riverdale High School in 1984 and went on to achieve an Associate of Arts Degree from Florida University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Citrus/Business from Florida
College in Lakeland, FL. Neal has owned, Agri-Concepts,Inc." since 1997 and currently works with Precision Agriculture Specialists for United Agri Products, Inc., Florida. Neal's interests include: Family activities, church activities, hunting, fishing,tennis, hiking, bike riding, reading books to his children and himself. Neal resides in Lehigh Acres with his wife Melissa and their two sons.
Nathan Stout
A Lee County native and has operated his accounting and tax practice in Lehigh Acres since 1981. He attended local schools and received a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University at Boca Raton. active in the Community, Nate has served or currently serves in the following Community Organizations:

- Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce, Past President and board Member
- Rotary Club, Past President and Board Member
- United Way of Lee County Inc., Past Board Member
- Lehigh Acres Community Council
- Lee County Electric CoOp/Past Chairman of the Nominating Committee
Nate has a great love for our environment and natural resources and is an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He and his wife Ann have lived and raised their four children in Lehigh Acres.
John Boardman
John was selected by the current Board of Supervisors to fill the open seat # in July of 2005. John has an extensive background, 30 years, in municipal water and wastewater treatment, retiring from the City of Punta Gorda in 2004. Former Commissioner on the Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District. Appointed by Governor Bob Martinez in 1990 and was subsequently re-elected 3 times. He served for a total of 14 years, President for three years and Treasurer for 8 years.
After moving to Lehigh Acres in 1972, John and his wife Karen raised three children and now have two grandchildren.

Michael J. Welch
Mike Welch was elected to the Board of Supervisors this past November by the voters of the District taking 62% of the vote.
Mike is a ten year resident of Lehigh Acres. Originally born and raised in Rhode Island, Mike graduated from Towson University in Baltimore with a BA in Political Science. During his college years he interned in the Capitol Hill office of U.S. Senator Charles McC. Mathias of Maryland. After university Mike became a fleet manager for Buick Motor Division – General Motors Corporation in the Washington, DC area. In 1985 he was appointed by James Cardinal Hickey, Archbishop of Washington to studies at the prestigious Pontifical University of St. Thomas in Rome (The Angelicum). He graduated from the Angelicum with the post graduate degrees of the S.T.B and the S.T.L. While in Rome he was sent to Cape Town, South Africa for mission work during the apartheid regime.
In 1995 Mike was appointed legislative assistant and later senior legislative assistant to State Senator Tom Rossin. While working in the Florida Senate Mike became actively involved with the East County Water Control District and helped on the Senator’s behalf usher in state funds for the Carlos Waterway project as will as other projects.
Mike is active in the construction and building industry and is currently managing partner of Building Industry Issues of Southwest Florida, LLC. He has been involved in numerous boards since moving to Lee County: Lee County Nuisance and Abatement Committee, the Lehigh Acres Local CRA – now disbanded, The Ruth Cooper Center, The McGregor Clinic and the Ad Hoc Committee on Blasting, Lee County BOCC. Currently Mike participates in several industry and charitable organizations and he is a member of the Board of Founders for Ave Maria University.
